Clean Energy & Improved wash for schools in Upper Eastern
The project aims to reduce schools dependency on firewood/charcoal by converting student waste into clean biogas ,thereby improving the health of students ,kitchenstaff and all other school employees,together with improved ,gender -responsive and inclusive sanitation and safe ,climate -resilient water infrastructure. Thisissupported by the creation of an improved climate by actively increasing agroforestry in schools as as improved food production in schools through productivityofschool vegetable production via drip irrigation and use of bio-fertilizer as well as environmental friendly agriculture methods.
Kilifi Livelihoods
Kilifi Intergrtaed Livelihoods and WASH project covers 2no. Subcounties of Kilifi County namely Kaloleni and Magarini respectively. The County drought managementcommittee approved KUMEA to work in the county to address the emerging needs of inadequate water and sanitation and also improve sustainable food productiontoreduce poverty levels in the county.
Western Water Livelihoods & Wash West Phase 11
The Project has commenced well and is on schedule. Project participants and stakeholders havebeenengaged and are participating actively in project activities.Planning sessions have been carriedout viaLeaders orientation forums in the target sub counties and the Participatory rural appraisal process hasbeen undertaken hence community have been adequately mobilized on community participationandcontribution towards project implementation.
Integrated Rural Development
The project objective is improve community livelihoods through multiple use of water and scalingup smart agriculture initiatives. The project also addresses climate change through effective harnessing natural resources i.e. harvesting rainwater via Ferro-cement water tanks to reduce soil erosion. The project covers Luanda ,Emuhaya and Vihiga sub counties of Vihiga County.East Gemand Yala sub counties of Siaya County
Water Livelihoods and Wash West Phase I
The Eastern Water livelihoods project has been under implementation for the last one-year year fromJanuary, 2022 and expected to end January 31st 2023 through implementation by Kujenga MiashaEast Africa-KUMEA with funding from NAK-Karitiative. The project covered Kibwezi sub county of Makueni County and has been implemented in Kibwezi East and West wards.
Igembe Dairy Goat, Horticulture & Beekeeping livelihoods
The project has been under implementation for more than the 2years anticipated due the emerging of COVID-19 hence the project secured a no cost extension up to end of February, 2021. The project has been able to achieve all the targeted milestones and enhanced replication of the same to other communities. The project was off-shoot of phase1 which did not achieve much due to poor implementation approach.
Eastern Kenya Water Livelihood renewable energy
The project was initiated in 2021 but funded in January, 2022.The project covers Kibwezi subcounty and is implemented in Kibwezi East and West Wards.
Baringo Emergency Relief & Suport
The project was initiated to support internally displaced persons due to banditry and cattle rustling. The project through meetings with leaders and other resource persons was able to verify the number of households affected and displaced families in Baringo County. The project identified 2no. Locations Loruk and Baraketio with 539no. Households identified in the respective locations
Baringo Floods Emergency & Support
The project embarked on providing assistance to victims of floods in Baringo County. The purpose of the project was address flood mitigations by supporting vulnerable community members negatively affected by the floods and the schools affected by the floods and provide support in terms of relocating and provision of building materials for erection of temporary structures.
Mukuru Slum Development Project
The livelihood components have been targeting youths and women to improve their livelihoods. The project initiated the key components of safe water supply through the drilling of borehole, improvedaccess to sanitation through the latrines at the bio-centre, gas production via the latrines through the bio-chamber, Production of briquettes through briquette manufacture equipment and plastic recycling through the installation of plastic recycling plant.
Baringo Bee Keeping
Kujenga Maisha East Africa (Kumea) was established and registered in Kenya in June 2010 as an NGO for the new Apostolic Church; East Africa District, It grew out of the relief and humanitarian efforts of the church that had been going on for five years. KUMEA is a faith based NGO; it operates beyond the boundaries of the New Apostolic Church. It brings together people of all faiths and persuasions without discrimination.
Katani school sanitation & ICT Support
The Katani Secondary school sanitation improvement project benefited from Harold Eckhardt funding due to the poor and inadequate sanitation situation in the school. The need to improve sanitation was based on the increased school population due to the collapse of several private schools in the locality due to the COVID -19 pandemic lockdown. The increased enrollment had pressure on existing sanitation facilities which could not sustain the demand. The school has a population of 442 students (153 boys &289 girls) and has 12no.latrines(4no. for boys & 8no. for girls) against a requirement of 18no. latrines (6no. for boys and 12no. for girls).
Western kenya dairy goat project
The western dairy project was initiated in February,2020 to improve livelihood opportunities for women and youth groups in Busia , Siaya and Vihiga Counties. The project delayed to take off due to COVID -19 restrictions hence resumption in August,2020. The groups were mobilized church coordinator to participate in the capacity building forums for goat rearing and management conducted 11th August,2020 to 13th August,2020. The training took place in two venues simultaneously i.e. Busia group converged at Funyula Trading center and the Siaya (Yala) and Vihiga groups converged at Ebuyangu New Apostolic church.
Nyando floods emergency relief support project
To facilitate implementation of the relief support activities the project team organized meetings in the target villages to assess and plan relevant realistic actions.
Mukuru food support & relief due to covid - 19 pandemic
The aim of the project was to provide food relief and assistance to vulnerable families and households in the informal settlement affected by the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions and situations which has led to massive lay off of casual workers, closure of business premises due to partial lockdown and inadequate resource to support families due inadequate incomes. The relief was to enable families without food to have some meals and support hard hit families with children who apparently are in need of support for food sufficiency.
Tanzania Beekeeping
The training of Apiculture Level One focused on Bee Keeping as an income generating activity like other Agri-business activities. The training aimed at equiping particpants with the most relevant and practical skills on handling bee keeping for maximum production.

Water Project KEDN II
This report describes the details for the project: drilling 10 deep boreholes rehabilitating 1 existing borehole, excavating 1 shallow well and Connection of a school to a community water source in Mwingi, Kenya. The project was funded by Help-Hilfe Zur Selbsthilfe. The project involved the actual drilling, test pumping, civil works and pump installation to supply the communities with safe and clean water. It also covered the capacity building of the benefiting communities in operating and maintaining the water sources in such a way that the sustainability of the sources is guaranteed.
Sustainable Commercial Beekeeping
The aim of the project was to improve food security and household incomes among small holder farmers in the Regions of Busia, Machakos and Homa Bay.
Nguni Kamuthale Water Project
This project report describes the details of implementation for the project: Rehabilitating 2 existing boreholes in Mwingi of Kitui County-Kenya which was funded by Help Hilfe Zur Selbsthilfe from the balance of the funds from three previous projects namely; Famine Relief 2011, Emergency Relief Seeds Program and the Water Project KEDN II 2012
Indegenous Chicken Dispersal Project
The Indigenous Chicken dispersal Project in Kisumu and Embu is an attempt at improving the living standards of rural communities where poverty indexes are high, and in supplementing Government efforts in Kenya. The project had a plan to reach out to 300 families within the target communities to improve their livelihoods by giving each trained family member five pullets (female birds) and a breeding cock (male bird) as a gift start up stock. This report covers the actual implementation of the project.
Indegenous Cattle Dispersal Project
Indigenous Cattle Dispersal Project, under KUMEA’s agriculture development theme, has provided Local Zebu cows to twenty two (22) families. These families are found within two project administrative divisions in Kisumu and Vihiga counties and in three location clusters of Kisumu 1, Kisumu 2 and Vihiga.
Farafos Beekeeping Project
This report covers the Implementation of the sustainable bee-keeping project. The origin of this project was a direct response to stake holders request for income generating projects that are sustainable. The Primary stakeholders of the project are KUMEA, Honey Care Africa (HCA) and farmers in the project area of Busia and Homabay Counties. KUMEA provides the Administrative and financial logistics while HCA provides the technical support in bee husbandry and marketing of hive products. A total of 120 farmers have benefited from this project.

The report covers the second phase II of the food distribution project which was funded by Nak-Karitative.

Kujenga Maisha East Africa (KUMEA), received funding through partnering with Help-Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe, (Germany) and has distributed Maize and Beans to the people of Kenya Central, Kenya East and Rift Valley Regions
Emergency relief seeds program
This project was conceived as an extension of the food aid program that had been implemented successfully in the same regions. Kujenga Maisha East Africa (KUMEA), received funding from Help-Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe, (Germany) and has distributed Maize seeds and fertilizers to 765 families in Kenya Central and Eastern Kenya.

This project was conceived as an extension of the food aid program that had been implemented successfully in the same regions. Kujenga Maisha East Africa (KUMEA), received funding from Help-Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe, (Germany) and has distributed Maize seeds and fertilizers to 765 families in Kenya Central and Eastern Kenya.
Afya jijini program
Improve community health and quality of life through hygiene promotion, Access to safe water and improved sanitation to informal settlement residents of Embakasi, Makadara and Starehe Sub Counties in Nairobi County.
Turkana drought recovery
Drought is often one of the most devastating but least understood weather phenomena, largely because of its slow onset and its accumulating impacts over time. Although definitions vary depending on the context, drought is generally an extended period of months or years in which precipitation is less than the annual average and results in severe water scarcity (Wilhite 2000; Downing and Bakker 2000; Whetherald and Manabe 2002).
Uganda - Water Project Phase II 2018
The people in Bisaju are experiencing challenges with getting water to use. Firstly, the Location of the place. Bisaju is located near Budongo Forest, the only water surface they had was in the forest. Life in the forest has not been easy as the citizens explained to me, they have been getting challenges with wild animals, the forest rangers who could not allow them time to time to freely use the waters from the forest. The chairman of the area Mr. Kaahwa Esau (+256 788 055 665) explained that his people have been walking distances to fetch water from Kyalukumu and Kyoganibanywa wells.
Ikomenie - school water project
The Ikomenie water project was formulated as a result of a successful Sanitation project implemented in two primary schools in Mbeere, Embu County (Mutugu Primary School and Ikomenie Primary school) . The project was funded by NAK- Karitativ and implemented by Kujenga Maisha East Africa in collaboration with the community, Kengen, and the County governemnt.
Mwingi famine relief 2017
The overall objective of the emergency relief assistance was to provide food to drought victims in Mukonga, Ngomeni, Katse,Kathiani and Nuu.
Eastern Kenya Water & Sanitation Improvement
To improve the health status of the residents of Makueni and Kitui Counties by facilitating improved community access, management and utilization of clean drinking water sources, sanitation and hygiene promotion.
Baringo floods famine relief
The overall objective of the emergency relief assistance is to provide food and non food items to drought victims in Moinonin and Lngarua in Baringo.
