Emergency relief seeds program
This project was conceived as an extension of the food aid program that had been implemented successfully in the same regions. Kujenga Maisha East Africa (KUMEA), received funding from Help‐Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe, (Germany) and has distributed Maize seeds and fertilizers to 765 families in Kenya Central and Eastern Kenya. The goal of the project was to minimize human suffering and to enhance recovery from the drought. The project also aimed to foster self‐sufficiency by assisting farmers with seeds and fertilizers and training them in good agricultural practices.
